As of the census of 2000, there were 7,774 citizens , 2,335 homeholds, and 1,272 families residing in the borough.
There were 2,335 homeholds, out of which 19.4% had kids under the age of 18 living with them, 45.4% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female homeholder with no husband present, and 45.5% were non-families.
